Over 150 Workshops
This year, Independence Day Ball dance camp will feature over 150 workshops from World-Class instructors. Four concurrent workshops will be taught every hour: 2 Latin (Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, Paso Doble) and 2 Standard (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz).
These workshops will focus mainly on technique. There will also be a performance class focusing on figures and presentation. This year, we will continue to expand our separate Advanced track for Open and Professional level dancers.
Taliat Tarsinov and Glenn Weiss...
...will be joining Wendy Johnson, Oksana Zolotarevskaya, Marcus Johnson, and Dan Calloway as instructors this year. More instructors will be announced shortly. For their bios and updates on the rest of the instructors, visit the Instructors page.
Championship Dance Camps' instructors are Blackpool, UK, US and World Champions and Finalists. Previous instructors include Karina Smirnoff, Peter Eggleton, Victor Fung, Anna Mikhed, Rufus Dustin, Alec Mazo, Edyta Sliwinska, Victor Kanevsky, Jean-Marc Genereux, Tony Dovalani, Elena Grinenko, Dan Calloway, Wendi Davies, and many more!
In addition to the workshops, we host nightly social events: trip to downtown Washington to see the Fireworks on the National Mall near the White House, Capitol and Washington Monument, Friday Night Social Dance, and, finally, "Pizza with the Pros" - a Q&A session with our panel of instructors that always ends in laughter and one-of-a-kind demonstrations.
